Often, when it comes time to buy ink cartridges for our printer, a question nags us: how much do I take? If you have the misfortune to misjudge your number, it usually goes with a lack of ink at the worst times in the months that follow.
So that you no longer find yourself stuck in the water when rendering an urgent document, we present a selection of printers that has long-lasting ink cartridges that will allow you to benefit from a great deal of autonomy before returning to a business. All while promising you quality documents through them.
Before you start the presentation, there is one final tip you should consider. Most ink cartridges on the market will only work with printers of the same brand. You must therefore pay particular attention to the presence of the reference of your printer on the product sheet before purchasing.
What Printer has The Longest Lasting ink Cartridges
Table of Contents
Cartridge printers” are commonly inexpensive to buy, but expensive to use because the cartridges contain ink for 100 to 500 sheets at best. “Tank printers” are three times more expensive to buy, but printing with them becomes almost “free”, the ink being so affordable.
Some models even offer unlimited ink deliveries via subscription at $48 for two years (eg Epson).
How to locate a printer with inexpensive cartridges
To understand whether or not a particular printer has cheap cartridges, you need to analyze the page coverage, this is the maximum number of pages that the machine can print using an entire cartridge, regardless of whether it is color or black.

Best Printers With Longest Lasting Ink Cartridges 2024
1. Epson EcoTank ET-2720: Printer has The Longest Lasting ink Cartridges
The printer is larger than some of its sisters, while still remaining compact. We do not end up with a machine that can scan and print A3, it is an A4 printer that keeps a contained format.
It is already very nice to see that Epson has managed to compact everything in such a format. All this comes, among other things, from the absence of cartridges, and the ink storage position.
We notice it immediately, the ink is stored in a sort of tanks on the front of the machine. We receive small 65 mL vials, which simply empty into the spaces provided for this purpose. Here the sheets are loaded on the top and will not be able to slip on the lower part of the printer.
Although this has been a bit trendy lately, this is not the case for this ET 2720. So be careful of the sheets which can collect dust if the printer is not used for a long time.
Features:
PRINT QUALITY
The tests will be done with a classic 100g / m² offset paper. It is already a fairly thick paper which will have the advantage of not drinking the ink and drooling. To print text, she knows how to do it without any worries. The text is perfectly sharp and the colors very good too. However, when it comes to printing a logo, or photos, take suitable paper and make the right settings. The right settings mean telling the EcoTank ET 2720 that you are printing on photo paper as well as selecting the optimum print quality.
By default, it has basic print quality. However, it can print in high quality, which therefore takes longer. In the test that we carried out with the Charles Tech logo, however, we did not find any difference between the classic mode and the high-quality mode. The latter is mainly used for photos that you print on photo paper. However, be careful with ink consumption, which will prove to be significant.
The sheet feeder can hold up to 100 standard A4 80g / m² sheets. Count less if you want to print on thicker paper (I like to print on 100g / m² paper for example). You can of course adjust the rulers depending on the media you are printing on. However, we regret the absence of an automatic front/back as well as the absence of an SD card reader.
SCAN AND PHOTOCOPY
When it comes to photocopies, the EcoTank ET 2720 does very well. It allows scanning in 1200 x 2400 DPI, which promises very good quality scans (better than the mouse-scanner that we tested) . Be careful though, if you scan documents like your taxes or an invoice, 150 DPI will be sufficient. In terms of scanning, the quality is obviously good. However, the lack of an SD port does not allow data to be exported to a card which is then inserted into the PC. We are therefore forced to install an application to scan documents on the computer.
Cartridges: This is the big advantage of this printer. Instead of buying 8mL cartridges, you are buying 65mL refills. They are certainly quite thick and contain a lot of plastic, but will be much better for the environment. Indeed, if we take an average cartridge of 8mL, we would need 8 to reach the same capacity as the refills. In total, we use less plastic with a refill and above all… It’s much cheaper!
It is highly recommended to put more money into an Epson EcoTank printer. Really. You usually pay for the 8mL cartridge around 10 to 15 $ in-store… There, a cartridge (reference 104) is only 10 $! It can print about 4,500 pages on top of that! Still not convinced? There I do not know what you need to see that the price/quality ratio is exceptionally good.
If we bring it down to the price per sheet, let’s take a classic $ 12 black ink cartridge, with which we print 250 sheets. This gives us a cost per sheet of 0.048 $. Now let’s do the same with an Epson 104 refill, at $ 10 that can print 4,500 sheets. We arrive at a cost per sheet of 0.002 $! It actually costs you 22 times less. I think you will understand, you will certainly pay, the printer a little more expensive, but you can print in abundance without breaking the bank!
Connectivity:
To connect the printer to the computer, you have several solutions. First, you have the option of plugging a cable between the two through the printer’s USB-B port. However, the cable is not supplied in the pack. You can also connect it to Wi-Fi to your home network. This connection method is very simple and will avoid you having cables lying around everywhere.
To connect the Epson EcoTank ET-2027 over Wi-Fi, all you need to do is connect to your network on the printer itself. This part is very long and annoying because you have to enter all the characters of the Wi-Fi password of your box. And this, one by one, by changing the menus and of course without a touch screen.

- Ecological side
- Reasonable consumption

4.Brother MFC-J805DW INKvestment Tank
The Brother MFC-J805DW is an entry-level multi-function inkjet printer (print, scan, copy, and fax) designed for small businesses and home offices with print volumes and moderate copying.
It has a good overall impression and is affordable to use, and its Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) is a convenient automatic master key for unattended two-sided copying and scanning.
Features:
When it comes to paper handling, the MFC-J805DW comes with a 150-sheet tray and a single-sheet bypass tray that pulls out from the rear of the chassis.
The maximum monthly duty cycle of the MFC-J805DW is 5,000 pages, with a recommended monthly volume of 1,500 pages. These numbers are at the top of the competitors mentioned here.
Printing Speed:
Brother rates the MFC-J805DW at 12 pages per minute (ppm) for monochrome pages and 6 ppm for color, about the average for basic inkjet printers. I tested it via USB connection from our test PC with a standard Intel Core i5 processor running Windows 10 Professional. When printing our 12-page Microsoft Word text document, I clocked the MFC-J805DW at 10.1 ppm, or just slower than its nominal value of 12 ppm.

As one of Brother's INKvestment Tank brand AIOs, the MFC-J805DW uses the company's super-volume ink cartridges, which discharge into internal tanks. The cartridges in the box contain enough ink to print up to 6,000 monochrome pages or 5,000 color pages, or approximately 500 black pages or 420 color pages per month for one year. When it comes time to buy new cartridges, the cost per page is just under 1 cent for a monochrome page and just under 5 cents per color page, which is not bad for a basic printer at this price.
Connectivity:
MFC-J805DW does not support Ethernet, which is unusual for an enterprise-oriented AIO, but does support 802.11 b / g / n Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and USB 2.0 connections. In addition to Wi-Fi Direct, mobile connectivity includes Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Mopria, and the Brother iPrint & Scan app for Android and iOS.

6.Canon MX922: Best for Business
Canon Pixma MX922 is ideal for homes and small offices. It is an all-in-one device with printing, scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities. Its features make the printer very efficient and allow for high-quality professional work.
The size of the printer is a size that does not require much space on the desk.
Still, it's compact in size, yet heavy enough to meet most of the printing needs of consumers and small offices.
Features:
Ink costs
Compared to other inkjet printers, the Pixma MX922 loses points in terms of operating costs. In fact, the printer does not come with high-yield inks to optimize printing costs.
Printing speed
In terms of speed, the printer is relatively slow compared to other similarly priced inkjet printers. This disadvantage is partly covered by the reasonably fast speed for photos. Its output quality is excellent and, combined with a long list of other features, it can fill in the gaps that arise.
Known as automatic sided, this feature saves paper, money, time, and effort. The MX922 is therefore environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and efficient.
Another great feature worth mentioning is the automatic document feeder. ADF allows users to place multi-page documents in platens, and pages are still scanned automatically. This feature is useful when you have a lot of fax needs. The Pixma MX922 is a better option than the MX522 due to its large ADF capacity. MX922ADF can hold 35 sheets.
One of the biggest strengths of this printer is that it can be printed on both sides of the paper without ing to manually page over.
Connectivity:
The MX922 can be connected wirelessly to a variety of devices. It enables wireless printing using Wi-Fi-Direct technology. This means that if you are using a wireless router, you can connect your printer to a Wi-Fi network and print using other devices on that network from anywhere in your home.
This all-in-one printer can also be used over AirPrint, which allows Apple users to print to Macs, iPhones, and iPads. For users of Android and other devices, you can use the Canon app to print photos and documents from your phone or tablet. Wireless printing is possible as long as the printer and machine are connected to the same network.
In addition, the printer has a USB port for printing directly from the computer/laptop.
- Excellent print quality
- Having Ethernet port
- It has convenient memory card functions
- Low refill cost
- Slow – not suitable for businesses with heavy printing volumes
7.Brother HL-2270DW
The market for small desktop monochrome laser printers is crowded, with the main differentiators being speed, duplex printing, and wireless connection. Brother's HL-2270DW has the latter two of these and a top speed of 26 ppm.
It can also print wirelessly from mobile devices, including iOS and Android, as well as from PCs and Macs.
Features:
The top half of the front panel folds back to reveal the two-part drum and toner cartridge. The toner snaps into the drum component and five of the high yield toner cartridges can be recycled before the drum needs to be replaced, which occurs after 12,000 pages.
Printing Speed: When connected to a PC, a monochrome page, mostly composed of text, was slower than the average speed of 17.5 pages per minute, and one small photo was printed at an average speed of 5.9 ppm. The speed of my Mac was about the same. It's 17.7ppm for monochrome text and 6 ppm for a mix of four pages of text and graphics in a single PDF file, which is above average.
Out Quality: The graphics quality was somewhat rough and gritty, but acceptable, best for office document printing.

Printers With Longest Lasting Ink Cartridges | Unrivaled Guide
Yield per page and per cartridge
How many pages of ink cartridges or ink bottles can I print? This is the most important question one often asks when looking for a printing press with a long life ink cartridge. Note that the yield per page is the total number of pages that can be printed before the ink in the pack dries.
Most printers often report the yield per page and the possible ink life. These figures should be determined on the basis of the expected monthly volume. This way, you can estimate the actual ink life based on the reported yield per page.
Print quality and efficiency
Listen, the best printer for ink efficiency is not only to save ink but also to provide unquestionable convenience with efficiency. Connection options should be versatile and easy to set up. In addition, the ideal printing tool has the right tray capacity, an automatic blocker, and automatic document feed capabilities.
Cost per page
The protracted global recession demands that we be more aware of the contribution of businesses and workers, just as we produce. Therefore, if you buy a printing press with a long life ink cartridge, you should consider the cost per print page.
The cost per page is often based on the cost of ink, the cost of paper, and energy consumption. By balancing these three factors perfectly, you can not only keep the price per page low but also ensure high productivity.
Monthly volume
In many cases, it's the workload that determines the number of printers in the ideal month, not the other way around. The trick is to buy a printing press that generates more monthly output than you expect. This allows you to avoid straining your device.

The truth about cheap printers
Walk into any electronics store and you'll find it easy to get lost in tons of printers. With so many options and offerings, consumers tend to move closer to the lowest priced printer, allowing other equally important factors to go unnoticed.
Many believe that if the machine is priced decent (or cheap ), the cartridges, page yield, and print quality will be too. Especially now that most printers look sleek, we can easily get distracted by this and forget what our real need is, which is to invest in a printer with inexpensive cartridges. In this article, we will look at the ways in which costs can add up over the life of a printer, and, later, we will also present a ranking of printers that, excluding the price of the machine itself, are compatible with cartridges with reasonable prices.
First of all, here are a number of considerations you need to make when purchasing a printer with inexpensive cartridges.

1 . Be wary of the price of the printer and cartridge
Inexpensive printers generally use expensive cartridges. They end up costing more in the long term maintenance.
Let's take the HP Deskjet 2655 as an example, incredibly cheap you will say. At first glance, it looks like theft. It is a multifunctional machine, which means it has print, copy, and scan capabilities. It is wireless, uses both color and black printer ink cartridges, and comes in an off-white with a glossy look.
What will ever be the other side of the coin? The cost of cartridges.
A brand new machine includes partially filled cartridges, which is common practice for most printer manufacturers, to allow you to use them right from the start. But soon you'll be back in the shop paying full price for a new set of standard or high-yield cartridges. The average cost for an original high yield black cartridge for that Deskjet printer is around $ 28. and the color one about $ 33.
After a trip to the store, you have already spent more than the initial cost of your new printer; bad business!
At that rate, it's best to buy a new printer every time the ink runs out! (I'm kidding)
2. Find the affordable cartridge printer that fits your needs
Today's printers offer many different functions and features. You must first decide whether you need an inkjet or laser printer. Inkjet printers are compact, versatile, and capable of printing both decent-looking color documents and photographs.
Most of them offers are multifunction, meaning they allow you to print, scan and fax with ease. Laser printers are considered to be the workhorse of the printing world. Common in offices, the most popular laser printers are monochrome, which means they only print in black and white. For a law firm that prints a lot of documents, a monochrome laser printer makes more sense.
The laser printers use a toner cartridge to produce a print and although the cost of the toner itself is generally more expensive than an inkjet cartridge, long-term print much more.
To save the most amount money and still get a good printer but with cheap cartridges, you must first be familiar with some terms that printer manufacturers frequently use in the details of their products.

Final words
The amount of ink used in the printing press has a direct impact on productivity and convenience. However, the search for printers with low ink consumption is often based on your monthly printing volume.
The options presented in this article will help you find the best printer with long-lasting ink cartridges for the office or business. Our research is based on cost, yield per page, monthly volume, and ink life. we also recall seeing the efficiency and overall performance of the printer.
